BCBST increased its membership by 223 percent since 2008, representing one of the fastest growing payers in the state, according to the report.
While the insurer grows its Medicare Advantage market, BCBST will pull back its Affordable Care Act footprint in three of Tennessee’s most populous regions for 2017, affecting an estimated 100,000 members. The insurer cited $500 million in losses on ACA plans over the past three years.
