Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts announced it is using CVS Health's pharmacy benefit manager, Caremark, effective Jan. 1, 2023.
The insurer will use Caremark to manage commercial and Medicare plans over the three-year contract, according to the Aug. 16 announcement. Caremark will replace Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts' current partner, Express Scripts.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts said the agreement will result in 10-15 percent in pharmacy savings over three years.
CVS Caremark serves 100 million customers across the nation with pharmacy claims, contracting and mail-order dispensing.
