Anthem pulls out of health exchange in parts of Wis.

Anthem, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield licensee in Wisconsin, will stop offering individual plans on the health exchange marketplace in three Wisconsin counties beginning in January, according to WAOW.com.

After Dec. 31, Anthem's individual plans will no longer be available in Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties, according to Scott Larrivee, public relations director at Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Wisconsin.

"Anthem individual members in these counties will need to select a new health insurance plan with a different company for 2016," Mr. Larrivee told WAOW.

Anthem will also cut back on the number of available exchange plans in 34 additional counties, according to the report. The change won't impact all Anthem's market segments, including large and small groups, Medicare, Medicaid or specialty product offerings.
