Anthem will sell health insurance policies in 25 Ohio counties, according to Ohio Department of Insurance filings.
In a statement to the Dayton Daily News, Anthem said it “remains committed to making healthcare coverage more simple, affordable and accessible for all consumers and will continue to advocate for solutions that will stabilize the individual market.” Anthem added it assesses the market each year and “participates where the company believes there is sufficient stability.”
Last year, several insurers ditched their ACA individual plan businesses, leaving 42 counties in Ohio with only one insurer to choose from. Next year, preliminary filings show 16 counties will have one insurer.
