AMA: Medicare must support telehealth coverage after pandemic

In recent 2022 Medicare physician payment schedule comments, the American Medical Association is pushing the federal government to extend telehealth coverage.

The AMA claims revenue has dipped, especially in tandem with the 9.75 percent reduction in physician pay that will tentatively go into effect Jan. 1, according to a Sept. 24 post

The association is urging CMS to extend telehealth coverage implemented as a response to the public health emergency to be extended through 2023. It also asked CMS to include telephone evaluation and management services as additional services covered on the telehealth list through 2023.
