The move uses the new test to complement single-cancer screenings, according to a Dec. 6 news release.
“Providing innovative benefits to support the health and care needs of our members is what we do here at Alignment,” said Dawn Maroney, markets president at Alignment Healthcare and CEO of Alignment Health Plan in California. “Taking preventive measures before signs and symptoms appear is key to finding cancer early when it is most treatable. We are excited to partner with GRAIL to provide seniors the tools they need to proactively manage their health.”
The screening, which detects 50 kinds of cancer with a sub-1 percent false-positive rate, will be available to California and North Carolina Alignment Health Plan members beginning Jan. 1.
