Aetna sells Connecticut property for $1.4M

Hartford, Conn.-based insurer Aetna sold some of its property in Manchester, Conn., to a Massachusetts investment firm for $1.4 million, the Hartford Courant reported.

The investment firm Longcap Manchester — part of Longmeadow Capital Partners in Longmeadow, Mass., — purchased Aetna's 36,000-square-foot building and 3.5-acre lot.

The tenant of the property will be healthcare product producer and distributor Hydrofera, a branch of Libertyville, Ill.-based Hollister.

A Longmeadow Capital spokesperson told the Hartford Courant Longcap Manchester's wish to attract employees and maintain its industrial base influenced the decision.

Aetna still owns other facilities and land in the vicinity of the sold property.
