Mr. Bertolini, Christopher Swift, CEO of insurer The Hartford, and Alan Schnitzer, CEO of insurer Travelers, said they are “committed to making the city healthy again and are vested in its success.”
The executives said they would allocate the funds toward “community institutions” such as the city’s public library, law enforcement and recreational areas, according to the op-ed.
Aetna’s commitment to Hartford comes after reports surfaced earlier this year the insurer was considering moving its headquarters to Boston.
