A survey from Hint Health, a direct primary care management platform, found that the majority of consumers are interested in cutting payers entirely out of their employer-sponsored coverage.
The survey, which was completed online by 1,000 adults, found that 83 percent of consumers would sign up for employer-provided direct primary care if it was offered, according to a Nov. 1 news release shared with Becker's.
Direct primary care models are agreements between employers and providers that eliminate third-party billing and member management.
However, direct primary care faces recognition challenges, as the survey found that 68 percent of respondents were unfamiliar with the concept of direct primary care.
