5 payers to participate on Idaho exchange next year

Listen

Board directors of Idaho's Affordable Care Act exchange approved five health insurers to sell 225 plans on the state’s exchange next year, the Standard Journal reports.

The exchange — Your Health Idaho — will have at least four health payers particpating in each county in 2017. In other states, insurer pullbacks may leave a third of U.S. counties with a single insurer next year.

Plan rates will be finalized by the Idaho Department of Insurance this week, according to the report. Eighty-five percent of exchange enrollees receive subsides under the ACA.
