5 insurers with highest individual market rebates in 2019

Private payers will likely have to pay $743 million in rebates in 2019 for overcharging premiums on the individual market, according to an estimate by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Here are the five payers that will issue the largest total rebates in the individual market this year, as predicted by KFF:

1. Centene Corp.: $216.9 million, or about $420 per member

2. Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare's Optima Health: $98.9 million, or about $1,850 per member

3. Chicago-based Health Care Service Corp.: $78.5 million, or about $180 per member

4. Cigna: $55.9 million, or about $320 per member

5. Highmark: $50.8 million, or about $1,250 per member
