1. What could an ACA repeal mean for contraceptive coverage?
A new brief from the Kaiser Family Foundation addresses the ACA’s existing contraceptive coverage rule, the impact of the rule on insurance coverage and the future of coverage if the rule is eliminated either through a full ACA repeal or administrative action.
2. ACA health plan enrollment outpaces last year with more than 11.5M total signups
HHS reported more than 11.5 million individuals signed up for health plans through the federal marketplace from Nov. 1 to Dec. 24, marking an increase of 286,000 plan selections from the same period last year.
3. UnitedHealthcare, Aetna protest bid loss of $12B Pa. Medicaid contracts
Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare and Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna are protesting their bid losses to manage Pennsylvania Medicaid benefits that cover 2.2 million beneficiaries.
4. Cigna, Scripps Health align for employer health plan
Scripps Health in San Diego and Bloomfield, Conn.-based Cigna will jointly offer employers in the San Diego area health maintenance organization health plans effective April 1.
