3 executive moves at Cigna

Bloomfield, Conn.-based Cigna appointed three individuals to lead three of its U.S. markets.

Here are the three appointments.

1. Cigna named Catherine Dimou, MD, as market medical executive for its Midwest market comprising Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan. Dr. Dimou is a board-certified internist specializing in hospital medicine. She most recently was associate dean of medical services at Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center.

2. The payer named John Roble market president for its mountain states market, which includes Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. Mr. Roble most recently served as the market's vice president of sales, since 2012. Prior to that, he spent five years in Cigna's Florida market.

3. Cigna appointed Monica Schmude market president for Delaware, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Ms. Schmude has held various leadership roles for the payer's Mid-Atlantic market since joining its sales office in 2010. She was most recently the markets senior vice president of sales. Prior to joining Cigna, Ms. Schmude was manager of sales and business services for Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna's middle market segment business in Chicago.
