UChicago Medicine now a preferred provider for UAE patients

The University of Chicago Medicine joined six leading U.S. hospitals to offer specialized medical care to patients from the United Arab Emirates, becoming part of a network of preferred providers for Emirati patients.

Under a medical services agreement, sponsored patients from the UAE will receive necessary medical services for complex conditions and will have continuity of care after leaving the U.S. Additionally, UChicago Medicine plans to collaborate with UAE providers to enhance the country's medical services.

"These institutions provide 'best in class' care and treatment for patients," said Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE ambassador to the United States. "Through partnerships and continued collaboration with leading U.S. hospitals, we will not only improve access to treatment for Emirati citizens, but also help the UAE enhance its own healthcare infrastructure."

The agreement adds to an existing partnership with the UAE that gives Emirati patients care through UChicago Medicine. The other hospitals in this preferred provider network include Boston-based Brigham and Women's Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Cleveland Clinic, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago and Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine.
