The deputy was also shot, but is in good condition, according to the report.
The incident occurred when a patient, who was under arrest for active warrants, was brought by police to the emergency department for medical issues. The patient reportedly tried to grab the deputy’s gun and another police officer opened fire.
Within an hour of the shooting, the hospital resumed normal operations, according to the report.
