3 Florida hospitals treat high school shooting victims

Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach, Fla., is one of three hospitals that received patients following Wednesday's shooting at Parkland, Fla.-based Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, according to a report on TCPalm.com.

The shooting left at least 17 dead and others injured. Broward Health North treated nine patients, including eight shooting victims. Two of the patients died. Four of the patients were not in life-threatening condition Thursday, and three others were in life-threatening condition, according to hospital officials.

Broward Health North also treated shooting suspect Nikolas Cruz, 19, who was reportedly taken into custody by local authorities after receiving treatment for unidentified injuries.
In addition to Broward Health North, Broward Health hospitals in Fort Lauderdale and Coral Springs, Fla., received a combined eight shooting victims, according to hospital officials. One patient received by Broward Health Coral Springs was not in life-threatening condition Thursday. Five patients received by Broward Health Medical Center were not in life-threatening condition Thursday, while two other patients received by the Fort Lauderdale-based hospital were in life-threatening condition.
