Police responded to an “active assailant call” at the UNC Family Medicine Center around 8 a.m. Upon arrival the officers found a man and a woman dead in the parking lot.
It is unclear whether the victims were employees of the medical clinic.
Phil Bridges, a spokesperson for the hospital, told USA Today, that the clinic will provide counseling services for any employee who needs it.
“The safety of UNC healthcare employees is of the utmost importance to us, and that’s what we’re worried about right now,” he said.
