While paper-based communication is still around, electronic communication is on the rise and has rapidly become an acceptable mode of communication between providers and patients, according to a report from TCS Healthcare.
The speed of the shift to electronic communication can create communication barriers, however. According to the Health Research & Educational Trust, providers may not understand the appropriate way to follow through with patients over electronic systems, and patients may avoid haphazard engagement efforts. In addition, complicated information security requirements add another layer of difficulty to perfecting the use of electronic communication systems.
Join Vocera Chief Medical Officer Bridget Duffy, MD, Vice President of Product Management Gautam Shah and Becker’s Hospital Review Lead Editor Helen Gregg as they discuss the use of innovative communication technologies in facilitating care team collaboration to improve patient, staff and physician experience. Dr. Duffy, Mr. Shah and Ms. Gregg will discuss physician experience with communication networks nationwide and the importance of patient experience using real examples from prominent healthcare organizations nationwide.
