Texas hospital gives its first baby of 2019 a $10K college scholarship

San Antonio, Texas-based University Hospital gave its first  2019 newborn a $10,000 scholarship, among other gifts, according to Fox News.

Marcela Perez gave birth to Prisca Belem Garcia Lara at 12:00:20 a.m. Jan. 1, 2019. The family told Fox News that Ms. Perez’s  due date was Dec. 31, and she almost delivered then, Fox News reported.

To celebrate Prisca’s birth, University Hospital gave her a scholarship from University of Incarnate Word, a private San Antonio university, for $10,000. Her family also was given an infant car seat, playpen and other gives from the health system.
