Although healthcare providers are increasingly considering telemedicine options such as chatbots, the jury is still out on whether patients trust these new modes of care delivery, according to a report from customer experience company UserTesting.
To assess patient attitudes toward the use of chatbots in healthcare, UserTesting polled 500 consumers about their experiences using five popular healthcare chatbot apps. UserTesting then applied a scoring algorithm to quantify the user experience.
How the five apps ranked on credibility, according to the report:
- Ada (82.7 percent)
- Mediktoy (69.4 percent)
- Your.MD (47.1 percent)
- HealthTap (46 percent)
- Symptomate (41.4 percent)
Most respondents (73 percent) said the chatbots were helpful, compared with 12 percent said they were not. Fifteen percent of respondents said they were neutral.
