Culpeper (Va.) Medical Center received The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for knee and hip replacement surgery, according to fredericksburg.com.

Three highlights:

1. The Joint Commission awarded the certification in collaboration with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

2. During an unannounced on-site review, surveyors evaluated the hospital’s entire joint-replacement process, from preoperative orthopedic consultation and ASC admission to rehabilitation activities and follow-up visits.

3. Culpeper Medical Center is a Novant Health UVA Health System facility.
