UPMC Health Plan honors 9 hospitals for orthopedic excellence

Nine hospitals were recognized by the UPMC Health Plan Hip and Knee Joint Replacement Surgery Center of Excellence program, a newly created distinction from the UPMC Health Plan Services Division.

The distinction recognizes orthopedic surgeons and surgery centers delivering quality outcomes, exceptional patient experience and low complication rates.

Nine hospitals have earned the distinction:

1. Armstrong County Memorial Hospital (Kittanning, Pa.)
2. Butler (Pa.) Memorial Hospital
3. Heritage Valley Beaver (Pa.)
4. UPMC East (Monroeville, Pa.)
5. UPMC Magee Hospital (Pittsburgh)
6. UPMC St. Margaret (Pittsburgh)
7. UPMC Passavant (Pittsburgh and Cranberry Township, Pa.)
8. UPMC Shadyside (Pittsburgh)
9. Monongahela (Pa.) Valley Hospital
