UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Carestream Health partner up on medical imaging research

UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, based in Williamsville, N.Y., has created a research agreement with Carestream Health to develop a new three-dimensional medical imaging system, according to a HealthTech Wire report.

The system will be designed to capture images of patient extremities. The physicians of UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine will initially focus on the advantages f cone beam CT in diagnosing and treatment knee injuries, according to the report.

Carestream and UBMD plan to eventually expand their partnership to study the advantage of digital imaging in the treatment of other patient extremity problems.
