Alex Vaccaro, MD, PhD, and Paul Celestre, MD, were the first surgeons to use Spine Wave’s new Testa TP pivoting spacer system, according to a Nov. 13 news release.
Testa is for transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion, and it’s the first device of its kind that’s internally designed and developed non-expanding. It is made from 3D-printed titanium and is designed to reduce implant stiffness and increased radiographic visibility. The device also incorporates Spine Wave’s TiCell nano surface technology.
Dr. Vaccaro performed his first case at Rothman Orthopaedics at Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, and Dr. Celestre performed his first case with Norton Leatherman Spine Center, Louisville, Ky.
