Orthopedic surgeons see higher average wages in outpatient care centers, according to new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The data, as of May 2024, provides the annual mean wage for orthopedic surgeons, except those in pediatrics, in five settings.
Outpatient care centers: $473,680
General medical and surgical hospitals: $411,500
Offices of physicians: $359,630
Offices of other health practitioners: $227,620
Colleges, universities and professional schools: $197,110
