Monterey (Calif.) Spine and Joint is joining Monterey-based Montage Health starting April 28, Monterey County Now reported.

The practice will also work under the name, Montage Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, the report said. The decision to join the health system came amid challenges with declining insurance reimbursement and rising costs.

Montage Health offered employment to all of the practice’s physicians and employees, the report said. Thirteen of the 14 physicians remain with the group, and one of the practice’s original founders left to start his own practice.

Terms of the practice’s contract with Montage Health weren’t disclosed.
