New York orthopedic hospital names medical advisor for business development

Mark Bowen, MD, is New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery’s inaugural medical advisor, strategy and business development.

He will begin the role March 1 and work as a strategic partner to HSS President and CEO Bryan Kelly, MD, according to a Feb. 5 news release. Dr. Bowen, a sports medicine surgeon, will focus on developing new programs and clinical platforms. He’ll also seek strategic opportunities to support HSS.

He earned his medical degree from New York City-based Cornell University Medical College and completed his residency at HSS. Dr. Bowen is rejoining HSS from Chicago-based Endeavor Health where he was chief of sports medicine since 2012.
