Mercy Hospital Springfield (Mo.). Mercy Hospital Springfield was founded in 1891. Today, the 886-bed hospital serves patients from southwest Missouri to northwest Arkansas. The Mercy Hospital campus includes a surgery center and sports medicine center, and in 2013 the hospital opened a dedicated orthopedic hospital with eight operating rooms and 48 private inpatient beds. Mercy Hospital Springfield is ranked No. 5 in the nation for major orthopedic surgery and among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for orthopedic care in CareChex’s 2017 lists. It is also rated as high performing in hip and knee replacement by U.S. News & World Report for 2016-17.
