Materialise: World’s 1st total knee replacement with X-ray Knee Guide Solution is successful

Materialise announced that the world’s first total knee replacement surgery using the Materialise X-ray Knee Guide Solution has been successfully completed, according to an Inside 3DP report.

The procedure was performed by an orthopedic surgeon in Belgium. The solution converts patients’ 2D scans into 3D replica models that can be used for practice and preparation prior to the procedure.

 

The solution will have a limited release in Europe before being initiated for the regulatory clearance process in the U.S.
