Hospital for Special Surgery dips its toes into motion-sense technology: 3 insights

New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery is collaborating with Scientific Analytics to integrate and refine the company's computer vision technology. 

What you should know:

1. HSS first installed Scientific Analytics' DARI system, which recently gained FDA clearance, at a regional location nearly two years ago.

2. The newest phase of HSS' collaboration with Scientific Analytics will leverage the health system's medical knowledge to make improvements in assessment protocols and data interpretation for musculoskeletal health.

3. The DARI system is designed to precisely measure human movement patterns without sensors or special clothing. The computer vision technology was refined using more than 425 billion data points of human motion.
