Harborview Medical Center (Seattle). Harborview Medical Center, a UW Medicine hospital, has six specialized centers focused on orthopedics where orthopedic surgeons perform approximately 5,200 surgeries per year. The orthopedic trauma program, which currently employs 20 specialists, began in 1973 and has grown into one of the busiest orthopedic trauma programs in the nation. Harborview is the only Level I trauma center and tertiary referral center for complex upper extremity conditions in the Pacific Northwest. In 2017-18, U.S. News & World Report ranked Harborview Medical Center among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for adult orthopedics.
