Eisenhower Medical Center is home to the Eisenhower Orthopedic Center of Excellence, which encompasses the 14-physician Desert Orthopedic Center and the Joint Replacement Center. The 463-bed nonprofit hospital was ranked No. 6 in California for major orthopedic surgery, according to CareChex’s 2018 rankings, and earned recognition as a Blue Distinction Center. Thirty-nine orthopedic specialists practice at the hospital, which sees nearly 7,000 orthopedic patients per year. Eisenhower treats among the highest volume of Medicare-aged patients in the country, making it one of the most experienced joint replacement programs for patients aged 65 and older.
