Ascension Via Christi Hospital hires 1st orthopedic surgeon in years

Orthopedic surgeon Terry Schwab, MD, joined the medical staff at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan., according to local news affiliate KOAM.

Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg hasn’t employed an orthopedic surgeon in about five years, President Randy Cason told KOAM. Dr. Schwab was hired to help the hospital improve access and convenience for patients.

Dr. Schwab graduated from the University of Nebraska in Omaha before undergoing internship and residency training at Orlando (Fla.) Regional Medical Center.
