“As more patients seek joint replacement surgeries and the number of procedures performed rises, it is vital to articulate our commitment to patient safety through certification,” said Bart Szczech, MD, Adirondack Health’s director of joint replacement surgery at the Saranac Lake-based Adirondack Medical Center.
Dr. Szczech sits on the accreditation program’s joint arthroplasty technical panel and assisted with creating the comprehensive joint replacement center national certification standards.
According to the program, Adirondack Health is the only health system in the U.S. to hold the certification.
