The bureau updated its projects on Sept. 6 and adjusted the year from 2031 to 2032.

Here are the five fastest-growing surgeon occupations:

1. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons: 5 percent
2. Ophthalmologists (except pediatric): 3.6 percent
3. Orthopedic surgeons (except pediatric): 1.6 percent
4. Pediatric surgeons: 1 percent
5. Surgeons (all other): 0.8 percent
