Four hospitals across three states have the lowest ratio of unplanned hospital visits after an outpatient surgery at 0.6, according to CMS data.
CMS’ Unplanned Hospital Visit dataset includes provider data from 2024 for hospital return days, unplanned readmissions and measures of unplanned hospital visits after outpatient procedures. The data was updated on May 13.
Last year, five hospitals had the lowest ratio of 0.4: Burke Medical Center (Waynesboro, Ga.), Adventist La Grange (Ill.) Memorial Hospital, Lincoln (Neb.) Surgical Hospital, University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro (N.J.) and Hospital for Special Surgery (New York City).
