Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center joins oncology alliance

The Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center joined the Caris Precision Oncology alliance.

Milwaukee-based MCW Cancer Center is the largest private research institution in Wisconsin and the only academic cancer research center in the area. It serves a large region of underserved patients who experience disparities in cancer incidence and outcomes.

The POA, which is part of molecular science and technology company Caris Life Sciences, is a network of leading cancer centers and institutions, with 70 members.

"This partnership exemplifies our mission of working through an equity lens to reduce the cancer burden for all patients in every community in Wisconsin and beyond through transformational cancer and precision oncology research," Razelle Kurzrock, MD, professor of medicine and associate director of clinical research for MCWCC and Genomics Sciences and Precision Medicine Center and the Linda T. and John A. Mellowes Endowed Chair of Precision Oncology at MCW, said in the Sept. 1 release.
