The experimental cancer treatment centers will feature tiny proton beams used to determine whether such technology is a better method for fighting cancer tumors than the traditional X-ray radiation method. The proton beam treatment centers in Rochester and Phoenix are expected to cost $188 million and $182 million, respectively.
