Hoag selects melanoma program director

Newport Beach, Calif.-based Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian has selected Thomas Wang, MD, PhD, to serve as medical director of its melanoma/advanced skin cancer program. 

Dr. Wang will work with a multidisciplinary team to care for patients with melanoma and complex skin malignancies in the new role. He joins Hoag after spending 15 years at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he was a professor of surgery and chief of surgical oncology for Birmingham VA Medical Center, according to a Feb. 23 news release sent to Becker's

Dr. Wang earned his medical degree from Philadelphia-based Temple University and completed a surgical oncology fellowship at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
