6 oncologists on the move

These six oncologists joined new practices or received new appointments over the last few months.

1. Chirag Parghi, MD, has been named chief medical officer of Addison, Texas-based Solis Mammography, according to a Sept. 8 news release obtained by Becker's. Dr. Parghi, who previously served as interim chief medical director for the breast screening and diagnostic services provider, will lead a national team of more than 100 radiologists and oversee the integration of innovation technologies into Solis' early cancer detection platform.  

2. Kim Margolin, MD, is joining the research team at Santa Monica, Calif.-based Saint John's Cancer Institute. The medical oncologist and professor of medical oncology has an extensive background in melanoma, with her work advancing the understanding of targeted therapies, immunotherapies and cancer recurrence. 

3. Brian Yeh, MD, PhD, has joined the team of radiation oncologists at Flint, Mich.-based McLaren Proton Therapy Center, part of the Karmanos Cancer Network. Dr. Yeh has more than a decade of experience using proton therapy as an oncology treatment.  

4. President Joe Biden's administration appointed three oncologists to the National Cancer Advisory Board Sept. 15: Nilofer Azad, MD, oncology professor at Baltimore-based Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of Johns Hopkins; Luis Alberto Diaz Jr., MD, head of the solid tumor oncology division at New York City-based Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center; and Karen Winkfield, MD, PhD, professor of cancer research and radiation oncology at Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
