6 organizations launching nursing programs

Here are six organizations opening or expanding nursing programs: 

  1. Memphis-based University of Tennessee Health Science Center partnered with Lane College to create a pathway for students to continue their nursing education once they complete an associate degree.

  2. Pima Community College partnered with Tucson Unified School District schools to allow nursing students to fulfill their training requirements at one of the district's schools.

  3. Polk State College will expand its nursing program thanks to a $1.45 million state grant for nursing education.

  4. Arkansas State University-Mountain Home has received initial approval to offer an associate degree in registered nursing.

  5. Workforce Initiative for Nurses Academy, a charter school within BridgeValley Community and Technical College, will offer an accelerated nursing program for high school juniors and seniors.

  6. Buckhannon-based West Virginia Wesleyan College and Morgantown, W.Va.-based Mon Health System partnered to offer nursing students a scholarship opportunity and employment guarantee upon graduation.
