13 top nursing programs for men

The American Association for Men in Nursing has named 13 schools in the U.S. as the top nursing programs for male nursing students.

To receive the designation, colleges had to fill out an application with supporting documentation that shows how the nursing program has worked to meet the needs of men in nursing and create an inclusive environment for them to learn. 

The 2023 designees are:

  • Duke University School of Nursing in Durham, N.C.
  • East Carolina University College of Nursing in Greenville, N.C.
  • George Washington School of Nursing in Washington, D.C.
  • Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing in Baltimore
  • Joliet (Ill.) Junior College
  • Lewis University College of Nursing and Health Sciences in Romeoville, Ill.
  • Nebraska Methodist College of Nursing in Omaha
  • Rush University College of Nursing in Chicago
  • Rutgers School of Nursing in New Brunswick, N.J.
  • University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh College of Nursing
  • University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Nursing
  • University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing
  • University of Virginia School of Nursing in Charlottesville
