Axial Exchange, specialists in mobile patient engagement, produced a regional PEI in 2013. This year, efforts have become national.
PEI scores will be evaluated by examining providers’ patient engagement efforts and personal health management promotion efforts. Top points will be awarded to organizations that “not only offer electronic access to patient health records, but also provide resources for ongoing health management support — including mobile, tablet and desktop tools,” according to the news release.
The scores will also consider readmission rates, Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems surveys, CMS’ tool for measuring patient satisfaction and social media engagement.
The 2014 National PEI results will be announced at Becker’s Hospital Review’s 5th Annual Meeting on May 15 – May 17 in Chicago.
