Toby Cosgrove Top of White House List to Lead VA

The White House is considering Toby Cosgrove, MD, CEO of Cleveland Clinic as the next Secretary of Veterans Affairs, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

Dr. Cosgrove has led Cleveland Clinic for 10 years, and has been with the health system since 1975. Trained as a cardiovascular surgeon, Dr. Cosgrove also served in the Air Force as chief of U.S. Air Force Casualty Staging flight in Da Nang, Republic of Vietnam.
