Sioux Center Community Hospital Breaks Ground on New $48.5M Hospital

Sioux Center (Iowa) Community Hospital & Health Center Avera, part of Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Avera Health, has broken ground on a new $48.5 million medical campus focused on outpatient and specialty services, according to a Sioux City Journal report.

The 123,500-square-foot facility will replace the existing hospital and will include two connected sections: 107,000 square feet of hospital space and 16,500 square feet of space for primary and specialty clinics. The hospital will include 19 inpatient rooms; an emergency department with two trauma rooms and four exam rooms and a 3,000-square-foot rehabilitation gym.

The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2013.
