Presence Saint Joseph Opposes Silver Cross ER Plans

Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Ill., is opposing plans to build a $9 million emergency center in Frankfort, Ill., by Silver Cross Hospital & Medical Center in New Lenox, Ill., according to a Crain’s Chicago Business report.

Saint Joseph President Beth Hughes wrote a letter to the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board, which must approve Silver Cross Hospital’s plan. In the letter she stated that Saint Joseph’s ER now operates at 63 percent capacity, according to the report.
