Gunman Kills 1 Other, Wounds 2 at Renown Regional Medical Center

A gunman opened fire in a building at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nev., yesterday, killing one person before killing himself, according to a New York Times report.

Two others were critically wounded in the shooting, as well.

The gunman entered Renown Regional's Center for Advanced Medicine at roughly 2 p.m. PT. A Renown physician said the shooting occurred at an outpatient clinic for specialized treatment, including urology and cardiology, according to the NYT report. The center remained on lockdown for more than two hours after the gunshots were heard.

Authorities did not immediately name the gunman or victims. A motive was not known at the time of the NYT report's publication.

Officials told CBS News the shooting does not appear to be random. Police are expected to provide more information at a briefing at 10 a.m. PT.
