Christus Spohn Health System Begins $3.9M ED Expansion

Christus Spohn Health System in Corpus Christi, Texas, part of Irving, Texas-based Christus Health, is renovating the emergency department at its Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg in Kingsville, Texas, according to a Corpus Christi Caller Times report.

The $3.9 million project will increase the ED from 4,200 square feet to 7,898 square feet to accommodate growing patient volume. The ED saw 18,244 visits in fiscal year 2010 compared with 19,383 patients in FY 2012, according to the report.

The hospital will add an isolation room, an obstetrician/gynecology room, central nurse stations, physician sleep rooms and three fast track bays, among other renovations.
