AdventHealth for Children (Orlando, Fla.). The expansion of AdventHealth for Children’s pediatric mental health services builds on the health system’s recent efforts to address youth mental health in Central Florida. In partnership with Dr. Phillips Charities, AdventHealth for Children created the AdventHealth for Children mental health program, the first of its kind in Central Florida. The program’s goals are to expand access to pediatric mental health care, increase early diagnosis and intervention, help families navigate the complexities of the mental and behavioral health care system, and reduce emergency room visits and hospitalizations for children. In 2023, AdventHealth launched its “Be a Mindleader” campaign with Heart of Florida United Way. The campaign is designed to remove the stigma associated with mental health challenges by getting curated, expert information into the hands of kids, parents, caregivers, coaches, mentors and teachers. Wanting to bring the powerful message to more people, the campaign was transcreated into Spanish and named “Lidera ConscienteMENTE.” Lidera ConscienteMENTE is a first-of-its-kind destigmatization campaign disseminating expert information designed specifically for a Hispanic audience and encouraging open conversations about mental health.
