Steve Allen, MD. CEO of Nationwide Children's Hospital (Columbus, Ohio). Dr. Allen has led Nationwide Children's since July 2006, overseeing The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation and The Center for Family Safety and Healing at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Dr. Allen developed the health system's strategic vision, which included the construction of a new 12-story main hospital building and a third research facility. The campus now covers more than 2.1 million square feet and supports a 1,100-person medical staff. Dr. Allen serves on the board of directors for the Children's Hospital Association, which represents 220 children's hospitals across the U.S.
